19th-century Coromandel dressing box C1870
This Coromandel dressing box is bound in brass and has brass decorative inlay to the inside. It also has brass excussion and decorative inlay to the top. Condition Report. The large oblong bowl has a chip and has an old repair with some kind of composite. It looks like the lock and harsp have been replaced at some point too. The fabric in the bottom drawer is wearing slightly. Otherwise, there is nothing really to mention - just normal wear and tear. There is a mirror in the lid which comes out with a small catch. The drawer is released by pressing the button at the back of the piece. The box comes with seven pots, with round tops; two oblong and the tortoiseshell tools.
